About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an Asset Data Coordinator to join our team to work in Birmingham.

Role Purpose:

Support the delivery of Information Management requirements on the Project with a contribution to improvements in data capture and operational system performance through rigorous data analysis.

Support and promote evidence-based decision-making, informing design, provision and management of information management systems.

What you'll be doing

Contribute to the improvement of data quality throughout the organisation
Identify opportunities to use data to drive product development and broaden the organisation™s capabilities
Contribute to the improvement of data quality throughout the organisation
Collect, process, cleanse and verify the integrity of data used
Identify system anomalies through data investigations and provide feedback and insight to colleagues
Conduct bespoke data analysis to aid product or process improvement
Collate and interpret data for validation
Develop semi-automated processes for standard datasets
Explore and pursue connections between design office and the support of on-site activities, enhancing the awareness of data standards
Conduct training and workshops. Assist with the implementation of data-driven process improvement within the project
Promote data science and represent the project to the wider core businesses at quarterly forums, share lessons learnt amongst the business unit and education practices through briefings/demonstrations

Who we're looking for

Curiosity, perseverance and willingness to explore
Capability for working in knowledge-based and collaborative environments (trust and openness, listening, supportive of ideas, conflict resolution)
Good working knowledge of several of the following: MATLAB, R, Python, GIS packages, statistics and databases
Ability to communicate Data Science findings to support decision making
High standard of written and verbal communication
Commitment to continuous improvement and finding more efficient ways of working
Rigour in application of information management standards
Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team

The following qualities/experience are desirable:


Hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent
Broad understanding of industry challenges
Broad understanding of organisation challenges
Valid CSCS Card
