About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci have commenced the full detailed design and construction of both schemes. Balfour Beatty™s in-depth expertise of delivering critical major infrastructure across the world will combine and complement VINCI™s global capability in high speed rail and expertise in UK rail infrastructure projects.

Preparatory works have started with main construction to commence in earnest in the second quarter of 2021. All sites will be fully compliant with UK Government guidance for safe working practices in relation to social distancing.

With this in mind we are preparing to mobilise people across Temporary Works from PC Temporary Works Coordinators to Lead Designers to Drainage Design across the Construction Industry ideally from an Infrastructure background for potential roles.

What you'll be doing

We are inviting people to register their interest for positions across the board within the Temporary Works arena

We are considering people who are currently but not limited to:

  • PC Temporary Works Coordinators
  • Temporary Works Coordinators
  • Lead Design Engineers
  • CAD Technicians
  • Temporary Drainage Engineers

Who we're looking for

Each role will have a particular skill set according to the role. It is expected that you have some of the following experience:

  • Qualified Civil Engineer or similar equivalent, with TW design experience
  • Proven knowledge of Network Rail and Highways England technical standards and approval processes.
  • Ability to design temporary works using European design codes and PAS 8812 together with a working knowledge BS5975 : 2019
  • Good communication skills
  • Depth of understanding of the construction environment for safe and buildable designs
  • Highly organised with good management and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands, assess priorities, proactively plan the works to ensure timely delivery of project requirements
  • Disciplined approach to quality assurance and documentation. Attention to detail, ensuring legal compliance and satisfying project requirements.
  • BBV behaviours, respecting equality and diversity
  • Leading teams, people management skills, effective delegation, mentoring & coaching and developing others
  • Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations, in particular, the Designer role.
  • Good Digital Skills
